Visit Scotland The town of Rothesay on the Isle of Bute is ideally located on the western shore of the Firth of Clyde. It is most commonly reached by 30 minute car ferry from Wemyss Bay near Glasgow. Alternatively, the island can be accessed from the north via short ferry from Colintraive on the Cowal Penisula. The Victoria Hotel is within 1 hour's drive from Glasgow International and Prestwick Airports including ferry time. Arrivals by train are to Wemyss Bay ferry terminal where a 5 minute walk finds you on one of the regular crossings across the picturesque Firth of Clyde.
